| After the birth of their first child he and his wife moved to KanawhaCounty and settled at Jarrett's ford on the Elk River. In 1812 he purchased several hundred acres of virgin land in the Elk District and retained possession of this land until his death. He is buried in Jarrett Cemetary, Elkview, WV, just a short distance from where he resided throughout most of his life. His wife, Elizabeth Vincent, is buried beside him. |
